Pursue Your Passion

I find great pleasure in performing live and bringing musical excitement to the listening crowds, but I also experience the same pleasure when one of my students shows advancement and accomplishment. It’s extremely satisfying to me when my students excel!

  • All printed lesson materials are provided by the studio at retail cost. The instructor will assess each student and assign the correct materials for each student, and will continue to renew the materials as student progresses.

  • These fees are for lessons given at the instructor’s Bee Cave TX home.

  • Greg Giacona Piano Studio also offers in-home lessons, to provide families the convenience of the instructor coming to their home. Travel fee to area homes, 15-mile radius: $10/week. 20-mile radius, $15/week. No in-home lessons outside of 20 miles from Bee Cave, TX.

  • If multiple students are located in the same home, only one travel fee is charged per week. Travel lessons are offered on a limited basis, depending on instructor availability. The travel fees are added to the monthly billing.
  • Recommended lesson lengths are based on age and experience level. We recommend 30-minute lessons for young beginners, age 5-7. Beginning at age 8, an intermediate-level student would benefit from a 45-minute lesson. We find that students 10 years old and up benefit from a weekly 60-minute lesson.

  • The curriculum load and difficulty increases as the student advances, thereby requiring more lesson time.

  • Young beginners typically are issued 2 books, a primer music theory book and a primer piano method book.

  • Intermediate students advance to add scale books, sight-reading books, and the theory and method books increase in difficulty.

  • Advanced students add to the above with repertoire books including works from the great classical piano masters.

Policies & Payments

Payments:

Tuition is collected monthly, due on the first lesson of the month.  Payments received after 48 hours of invoice issuance will be charged 5% until balance paid.  Venmo preferred.

Student Expectations:

Greg Giacona Piano Studio invests heavily in its students.  We expect students to likewise prepare weekly with daily practice, to be ready for the upcoming lessons.   The methods used are proven successful.

Every time the student follows the prescribed assignments, they succeed at the piano!

Lesson Schedules:

Greg Giacona Piano Studio teaches year-round, and is available for all of the school year calendar, most of the summer break, and most of the Christmas break schedule.

Recitals:

Greg Giacona Piano Studio will hold two annual recitals, in his Austin-area home.  All students are expected to perform two pieces in these recitals.  They will occur end-of-school in May and start of Christmas break in December.   Students LOVE these recitals, and parents get to see the progress we are all working hard to achieve.

Absences/no-shows:

Any student absence needs to be reported more than 24 hours before the next lesson, or that lesson fee shall be forfeited. This is standard private lesson policy. With a short-notice cancellation, the teacher will make the effort to offer at least one make-up lesson the same week. If that day/time make-up slot cannot work for the student, the fee is forfeited for that particular week. The make-up offer is not guaranteed, but will be offered if the instructor has an available lesson slot.

  • The instructor holds the day/time for the student.   At least 24 hours’ notice is necessary for the instructor to possibly book another student in that slot.
  • Any lesson cancelled by the student outside of 24 hours will be credited to the following month’s billing.
  • Any lesson cancelled for any reason by the instructor, at any time, shall be credited to the following month’s billing.
  • If a student should not be home for a home-based lesson at the scheduled time, the lesson fee is forfeited with no make-up lesson offered.

What parents & Students Say

Greg was a wonderful piano teacher for my son who decided to do off campus piano for his fine arts high school credit. Greg was able to connect virtually with my son and helped to rekindle his passion for piano!!  He was very patient and engaging with my son! It was a great experience.

Greg’s passion for the piano and music is reflected in his instruction. He cares deeply for his students, resulting in a teaching environment that equal parts encouraging and rigorous. Our son has a sound understanding of music theory, a disciplined approach to practice, and a joy of playing piano because of Greg!
Erin C.
Greg has helped our son take his playing to the next level! I would not have guessed our 12-year-old would enjoy learning theory, but Greg inspires him to do so. Our home is full of beautiful music, and a passion for improving, all thanks to Greg.

We love working with Mr. Greg! His love for music, combined with his inspirational playing, makes him an incredible teacher for my son. We starting working with Mr. Greg almost a year ago and we hope he will be our child’s teacher for many years to come!

My daughter was eager to take piano lessons and Greg's instruction and encouragement has been exactly what she has needed to excel!  I'm also super impressed with how well he teaches theory  - she even knows how to play songs in different keys!

I’ve been taking piano lessons from Greg for about 10 months. As a 63 year old adult, who is brand new to piano, I can testify that learning to play is hard! But Greg makes it fun, and he is definitely helping me reach my personal piano goals. I look forward to our lessons every week. I highly recommend him as a teacher!
